Heat treatment steel strip is also called hardened and tempered steel strip by controlling the heating and colling process of steel strip to alter the steel strip's physical and mechanical properties without changing the steel strip's shape.
Heat treatment is often associated with increasing the strength of steel strip,but it can also be used to alter certain manufacturability steel strips such as inprove machining,imporve formability,good toughness and abrasion resistance,restore ductility after a cold rolled annealed process,but can also improve steel strip performance by increasing strength or other desirable characterisitics.
Steel stips are particularly suitable for heat treament,since they repsond well to heat treatment and teh commercial use of steel strips exceeds taht of any other material,the steel strips of heating treatment process as following:
1.Annealing
It is heating the steel strips in the certain temperature and holding for a period of time.then made it cooling slowly,this is called annealing
2.Hardening
Hardening process involves heating the steel strip to above the critical transofrmation temperature for the given grade and then rapidly
3.Tempering
After hardening The problem here is that the steel strip in this condition is extremely brittle and therefore requires further treatment in the form of tempering. so the tempering consit of reheating the steel strip to a lower temperature and holding it at the given temperature for a given period of time
